Roost Board

A kanban board with zero lag

Roost Board is where the work lives: capture tasks in one line of natural language, drag them across real columns, and let WIP limits tell you when you're overcommitted.

Capture in ~2 seconds

One line does it all: “Ship report fri !high #launch” becomes a card with a due date, priority, and label. Dates parse naturally — fri, next tuesday, in 3 days — and #labels are created on the fly.

Never wait on your board

Every move is optimistic: cards drop instantly and sync in the background. No spinners, no full-page reloads — and other viewers see your changes land live.

Real kanban, not a list

WIP limits that warn when a column overflows. Swim lanes by priority, label, or assignee — as bands across your columns or stacked mini-boards. Drag across a lane to reassign.

Share when you're ready

Solo by default, team-ready underneath. Invite by email as editor or viewer, see who's doing what with assignee avatars, and keep as many boards — personal or shared — as you need.

Your work finds you

My Tasks gathers everything assigned to you across every board, bucketed by due date. @mentions and watched cards land in the notification bell, due-soon nudges and a daily digest land in email, and recurring cards file themselves on schedule.

Cards with depth

Markdown descriptions, checklists, due dates, labels, file uploads and link attachments — OneDrive and SharePoint links get recognized automatically. Comments with @mentions keep the discussion on the card, and everything autosaves.

Archive, don't delete

Finished or stale cards move out of the way instead of disappearing. Restore any time — and the archive is part of your analytics history, not a black hole.

A memory of everything

The activity log keeps the story straight: who moved what, when, and where. Every move also feeds the Analytics module's cycle-time and flow metrics.

Keyboard-first

c to capture, / to search, space-and-arrows to move cards without a mouse. Full drag-and-drop accessibility built in, not bolted on.
